The establishment of Information Technology and Systems came as a needed step toward coping with vast and fast developments in the IT sector and in response to the huge demand for information technology studies.

The Jordanian society, like most of the world's nations, pursued higher education in this area to satisfy the market demand for such expertise and to deliver the foundation for the needed workforce for such development.

Faculty of Information Technology and Systems is intending to provide Jordan specially Aqaba with more specialist young people in various fields of IT. It provides the students with state of the art technologies, computer labs to fulfill their needs. It has also started setting up some courses for Aqaba residents. The courses include International Computer Driving License (ICDL), Advance Programming Using Fourth Generation Languages (ex. C++, Java, ASP.NET, Oracle 10g, etc.)

The School contains two departments: Computer Information Systems (CIS) and Information Technology (IT). It has faculty members who are highly qualified in teaching and researching.
