The "Information Technology" specialties at the University of Jordan are among the top 150 universities in the world.

​The University of Jordan (UJ) has achieved prestigious global results in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024, which is considered the most influential and important in the field of subject rankings worldwide. Released annually by the British institution 'QS', the university has obtained advanced positions in all five scientific fields classified, and in eighteen specific disciplines.

In Engineering and Technology, UJ was globally ranked in four disciplines, with three being the top-ranked university locally and one being the second locally ranked. In Computer Science and Information Systems, UJ's ranking was 149 globally, advancing from the 151-200 position it held in the 2023 ranking

At the Arab level, UJ ranked fifth in computer science and information systems

In this instance, the administration of the School of Information Technology and Systems, represented by its dean, Dr. Ismail Altaharwa, extends gratitude to the Presidency of the University of Jordan, represented by His Excellency, Professor Nathir Obaidat, the deputy professors, and the Office of Global Rankings and International accreditation for their continuous support and encouragement in enhancing the academic reputation of the University of Jordan. The Office of Global Rankings and International Accreditation stated that this ranking is based on five criteria: the academic reputation of the specialty measured by the reputation of scientific research in the specialty to be classified, the reputation of the research faculty, the employment reputation of graduates of the specialty, the citation rate per internationally published paper in the specialty, global research collaboration within the specialty, and finally, the citation index for research published in this specialty (H-index).
