The Faculty of Information Technology and Systems organized its Scientific Day in the presence of the representative of the President of the University of Jordan–Aqaba Branch, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Majali, Assistant Vice President of the University of Jordan–Aqaba Branch, with the participation of several deans, faculty members, and a large number of students.
The Scientific Day activities included the official announcement of the launch of the IEEE Student Branch at the faculty, a step that reflects the faculty’s commitment to enhancing scientific and technical activities, supporting scientific research, and linking the academic process with global developments in the fields of engineering and information technology.
The event witnessed broad participation from representatives of labor market institutions and companies. A series of specialized lectures were delivered by leading national organizations, including the Crown Prince Foundation, Aqaba Digital Company, Aqaba Game Lab, and Programmers of Jordan. These lectures addressed key topics such as digital transformation, innovation, entrepreneurship, and future labor market requirements.
During the event, the Faculty of Information Technology and Systems Projects Exhibition was inaugurated, featuring a distinguished selection of student projects. These projects ranged from smart robotics to software projects and multi-purpose technological applications, reflecting the advanced academic and practical level of the faculty’s students.
The Scientific Day also included scientific and cultural competitions, as well as training workshops aimed at developing students’ practical skills, fostering creativity and teamwork, and encouraging innovation in various technological fields.
In his opening speech, the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Issam Al-Hadid, welcomed the attendees and reviewed the most prominent academic and research achievements of the Faculty of Information Technology and Systems. He emphasized the faculty’s future aspirations to further develop its academic programs and strengthen partnerships with public and private sector institutions, contributing to the preparation of qualified national cadres capable of keeping pace with rapid developments in the fields of information technology and systems.
